ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: NATALIA KILLS

It's lamentable that Natalia Kills - who had a brief chart career when she was younger as a rapper named "Verbalicious" and "Verbz" - is yet to breakthrough into the American mainstream. Discovered by Black Eyed Pea-frontman Will.i.am in January 2008, she was signed via his label (will.i.am music group, home also to BEP, Fergie, Cheryl Cole, Kelis, Macy Gray) to Interscope/Cherrytree Records. Since then she's been hard at work, honing her talent and building up a very international (and very loyal) fanbase.

And now, she seems set to make 2011 her year. Her debut album "Perfectionist" has just been released in Germany, where it has so far reached the Top 10 on the iTunes chart. Having opened for Kelis in Europe during the latter's "All Hearts Tour" back in October, she has been sharing her time between promoting lead single "Mirrors" in Germany and touring alongside Robyn in Canada and USA. She's also featured in Far East Movement's most recent international single. The dramatic music video for second single "Wonderland" has already been making big waves on the net; the uncensored cut can be seen HERE. The song is featured in the Vanessa Hudgens movie "Beastly", originally set for a July release but unfortunately bumped forward to March to avoid scheduling conflicts (for Vanessa, not Natalia).

"Mirrors" is scheduled for a UK release on April 17, with "Wonderland" following shortly with a physical release in Germany on April 29, 2011. The international release of "Wonderland" is set for July, coinciding with the album's release date of July 18 (confirmed for UK, likely same or similar elsewhere).
