Out on August 21st, "Heart Skips A Beat" is the first single from X-Factor runner-up Olly Murs' second studio album, expected later this year. The reggae fusion track features British hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks and is something of a male counterpart to the slew of island-tinged female summer songs which have cluttered the charts as of late - What's My Name (Rihanna), I'm Into You (J-Lo), Right There (Nicole Scherzinger), Lay It Down On Me (Kelly Rowland), and so on.
Like any typical "summer song" video 'Heart Skips A Beat' features all the usual components - random street dancers, skateboarders, bright colours, and lots and lots of hey-look-at-me-I'm-having-fun shots. Mr Murs even pulls off a few quick dance moves, successfully not looking a tit whilst doing so.
Seems like Murs won't be going anywhere anytime soon - if he can be allowed to continue make refreshing pop instead of being forced to chase chart trends, I'm confident he can replicate or even expand on the success of his debut album. Enjoy below:
The upper is constructed of nubuck materials and is set in Black, while Crimson Red bursts through in a not-so-subtle fashion along the Nike "Swoosh", tongue and outsole. The Grey midsole helps wrap up the design, as does a translucent portion of the outsole.
