I've already posted about the fabulous Brianna Perry, aka Brianna The Young Rich Bandit, so I won't go over her story again. Currently signed to Atlantic/Poe Boy, she's working on her debut album, which seems guaranteed to be THE hip-hop debut of the year.
Producer-wise she's been working with the likes of Rico Love, Pharell Williams and Lamb (Beyoncé's "Countdown" and her own "Marilyn Monroe"). Confirmed collaborators include former mentor Missy Elliot (who signed her back in her teens); a collabo with Rick Ross is likely to happen in the "near future", according to Brianna. She's also rapper Briscoe's blood cousin and previously shared the stage with his label head Lil Wayne, so some Young Money/Cash Money collaborations are definite possibilities. (For those of you who don't know, Wayne previously dated her other mentor Trina (with whom she's also recently collaborated and can be expected to do so again in future), so that's where that connection came from).
Anyway, until the album actually comes out, another mixtape(s) and music videos are sure to come our way. The latest is "Reality Show", which is good, if not a lil too derivative of Eve and Lil Kim's early 00's output.
