Having scored huge international hits with the now classic Pop records "Leave (Get Out)" and "Too Little Too Late", R&B-Pop teen sensation JoJo was caught up in endless label drama, pushbacks and almost constant leakage of her unreleased material. After a very long wait, she's finally returned with a new single, "Disaster", which seems to be turning into something of a sleeper hit; almost four months after the video debuted, it's just begun to register on the official Hot 100 charts (#47) and broken the US radio Top 40. Unfortunately, unless her label has a sudden about-face, there seems to be nothing in terms of real, substantial promotion lined up for JoJo; the song's already being released (without any fanfare or anouncement) internationally whilst a new track "Sexy To Me" (produced by the indomitable Danja, the man behind Britney's "Gimme More") has been chucked on US iTunes and Spotify.
As frustrating as all these false-starts and almost-there's are for us fans, there is light at the end of the tunnel - more specifically, the music's just as insanely catchy as ever. ("Sexy To Me" is BANGING).
Enjoy:
