The video for Michael Jackson's second posthumous single, "Hollywood Tonight" debuted on his official Vevo a few hours ago, complete with tribute dance moves and girls that look like Jaden Smith dancing on sunny pavements. Its a funky, upbeat track that sounds like a rather dated rehash of past hits from the legendary singer. If the Akon-assisted (read: dominated) lead "Hold My Hand" couldn't translate into a substantial hit, its unlikely that this will either.
One can only wonder how long it will be until his label sees sense and releases the far superior album cut "Monster" - or should I say Thriller Part 2 - especially considering how everything 50 Cent touches seems to be turning into a hit these days.
