MUSIC VIDEO SNIPPET: LADY GAGA - JUDAS

As always, Lady Gaga is looking to ensure that the debut of her new music video is nothing less than a major cultural event certain to cause controversy and discussion.

Previously reported to be premiering on American Idol, the music video for "Judas", the second single to be lifted from third album "Born This Way", is now set to premiere on E! News this Thursday (May 4th) at 11:30 pm. ET/PT - and on E!Online at 8 p.m.

According to E! Online the video is "loaded with Biblical imagery and religious overtones"; other reports have said the video will feature Lady Gaga as Mary Magdalene, leading a gang of modern-day biker-apostles into Jerusalem. The song itself makes Biblical references throughout, apparently using the betrayal of Jesus by his apostle Judas as a metaphor for a lover's betrayal.

Lady Gaga has recently stated her belief that her Born This Way record is divinely inspired and made known that her entire album handles the topics of religion and fame; so far both singles released have made brash reference to the divine and spiritual.

The premiere will "be followed by a revealing interview in which Gaga tells our own Giuliana Rancic about her life, music and the uproar already surrounding "Judas"'.

With a price tag of $10,000,000, the video - co-directed by Gaga and frequent collaborator Laurieann Gibson - becomes the most expensive music video to ever be shot. Runner-up "Scream", a 1995 collaboration from Michael and Janet Jackson, cost "only" $7,000,000 at the time, equivalent to somewhere around $9,500,000 now.
