After much anticipation and speculation in the urban community, Jay-Z and Kanyé West have finally announced the lead single from their upcoming collaborative album "Watch The Throne".
The cut is titled "Lift Off" and features none other than Beyoncé Knowles and American radio's balladeer of the moment Bruno Mars. It shall serve as the first official single from the project and follows "H.A.M." (which featured Lil Kim on a popular remix) the official buzz single.
Sources say "Lift Off" will be pushed to radio and iTunes real soon.
Kanyé is a close friend and collaborator of the hip-hop power couple - in addition to his collaborative work with Jay-Z, he has also collaborated with Beyoncé recently on a cut from her upcoming album and previously on the official remix of her hit "Ego".
Bruno Mars may seem like the oddball newcomer addition to the power quartet, but the smash hit success of singles "Grenade" and "Just The Way You Are" back him up as a more than worthy addition to what looks set (in a year already filled with big-name collaborations) to be the year's biggest collaboration.
I sincerely hope "Lift Off" sounds anywhere near as epic as it reads on paper. The idea of Beyoncé and Bruno Mars harmonizing and riffing together is what excites me most - even if it is just as a mere backdrop to Jigga and Yeezy spitting verse.
