Paloma Ayana, stage name Delilah, had her first taste of success earlier this year when "Time", a Chase & Status single featuring her vocals, barely missed the UK Top 20, peaking at #21. Now signed to Atlantic Records & Warner Music, she's been working on her own solo project, digitally releasing four brand new tracks on her "Go- EP" earlier this month (September 6th).
The title track "Go" is a chilled drum & bass number featuring sleek production and a very clever interpolation or reworking of Chaka Khan's classic signature hit "Ain't Nobody" (though the finished product is somewhat more reminiscent of Liberty X's early 00's mash-up version "Being Nobody" which shot to the top of the UK charts). The only let down is the lack of a dubstep breakdown or sudden drop/wobbly bit - it seems the whole song builds up to such a moment but it never happens. Maybe they thought it would be too predictable, or perhaps they just didn't bother, in the knowledge that the song would get about a hundred dubstep remixes regardless.
Anyways, the song has been gaining steam for a few weeks now and looks set to establish Delilah as one of the freshest, most exciting new faces on the UK music scene.
