A senior X-Factor source is clear about the two main changes on the popular TV show, which is set to undergo a radical overhaul in preparation of its return in August. England's resident Pop sweetheart and fashionista Cheryl Cole is out, whilst her former nemesis Lily Allen and Take That crooner Gary Barlow are in. The two are set to join Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh on the show's permanent judging panel.
Simon Cowell will also return to the show as an additional, fifth judge during the live programmes, whilst Cheryl is set to pursue "other opportunities" in America. (Despite rumours that her bid for a role in US X-Factor has already been shot down).
Cowell will also be a judge on the panel of US X-Factor alongside former Def Jam label boss LA Reid and
diva Mariah Carey who is set to join the series further down the line following the birth of her twins. The rest of the US X-Factor panel is currently unknown: names such as Nicki Minaj, Jessica Simpson, Enrique Iglesias, and Nicole Scherzinger have all been cited in connection to the show.
